T
he 100% differential airlocker - How the airlocker works
The ARB differential airlocker is available
for many types of vehicles. The ARB
airlocker has the advantage of being
controlled by the driver, by means of a
dashboard mounted switch. There is no
chance of unexpected engagement, this
means the locker is either disengaged
or 100 % locked, so no adverse effect
to your tyres when travelling on normal
roads.
Using a compressor (works best with
original ARB compressor) you provide
the pressure needed for the bonnet. The
automatic switch on the ARB compressor
always provides the right pressure. Using
the dashboard mounted switch you can
choose when to use the diff lock.
When turning it on by pushing the
button, the compressed air activates a
piston inside which engages a locking
gear, instantly locking the differential.
By simply switching it off, the diff lock is
disengaged and the diff lock works as an
open differential, maintaining safe and
predictable handling.
