BA Disk Brakes
DBA (Disc Brakes Australia) is a six times award winner of the
Accessory Manufacturer of the Year award in Australia. To start
with the manufacturing of simple replacement discs was their
focus - since then a lot of development work has taken place
in performance parts for 4x4 vehicles and race discs for motor
sports. We used our first DBA disc 8 years ago in one of our off
road race cars. The superior brake performance, even in wet
and muddy conditions, convinced us. That‘s why we are now
offering this product to our motor sports clients and special vehicle
builders with a selection of these high quality discs.
DBA`s Kangaroo Paw delivers significantly improved braking
performance under all conditions to make you safer than ever
before. This innovative design runs cooler, is stronger and
outperforms traditional straight disc brake rotors.
Extreme heat can cause disc rotors to wrap, distort and in some
cases fail. Traditionally, heat is removed as air flows through the
rotor passing between straight ‘cooling vanes’. Kangaroo Paw
disc rotors will quickly remove the heat, cool the discs and return
to optimal operating temperatures ready for the next braking
application. The Kangaroo Paw features 144 precisely positioned
diamond and tear-drop pillars. The pillars create greater strength,
reliability, and more efficient cooling system. Greater surface area
means more rapid heat dissipation.
On the 4000 Series you will find 2 more DBA Patents
–“
Thermo-Graphic Temperature Monotoring”(TTM) and “Thermal
Stability Profiling” (TSP). TTM is a Graphic paint marking which
changes colour at specific temperature thresholds – the driver
can check their braking performance. TSP = the process provides
greater thermal stability than standard street discs. TSP enhances
the microstructure of the rotor for performance applications.
All rotors have a better brake performance because of the
directional/wiper slot design and cleaner disc surface. All these
positive effects will help already with standard disc pads for a
much better brake performance and the fading is noticeably
reduced. To get better braking in wet conditions the Gold or XS
versions with additional holes should be the choice although these
are not suitable for Off Road use as the holes can fill with mud - so
they are only for street use.
The DBA-High Performance Discs for 4x4 vehicles have a new
name “4WD Survival” and their own new packaging.
